La na gClub

Crusheen celebrated La na gClub on Sunday 9th May with two tournament games. The first was an U-14 game for the Paul McNamara CUp between Crusheen and Clooney/Quin. After a spirited hour of hurling, Crusheen emerged narrow winners.

The Junior A and B hurling panels combined for a hard fought challenge for the Michael Culligan Cup. The two teams were called Fogies and Highway, with Michael Fogarty the Highway captain and Sean Fitzgibbon leading Fogies. Thirty-five players were used and when the final whistle was blown by referee John Brigdale, the Fogies were 3-9 to 1-10 winners though there was some slight disagreement with some of ref's questionable decisions!! After the game, Colm O'Connor, chairman and Thomas Culligan, presented the cup to Sean Fitzgibbon.
